Auspicious Dreams

Kali Yuga Reflections

Kali Yuga - we hear so much about the dark and depressing impact of the Iron Age. The rise in sinfulness. The decline of religiosity. The rampant materialism - consumerism and sexualisation of society.

Devotees are not immune to this. It is not just a karmi sickness. It afflicts in varying degrees us all. It is my hope that devotees will share their personal responses to the impact of kali yuga in their lives, and share their strategies for successfully combating this. I mean more than…

Sunday Feast Reflections

Its a humbling thing to serve at the Sunday Feast. Here in Hobart we have 20-25 regulars. Bh. Marie has the voice of an angel, Bh. Rodney's enthusiasm is contagious, and Apparna Matajis puris are a favourite. Last Sunday we had such an energetic kirtan with newcomers joining in to worship Gaura Nitai.

To witness new jivas returning to Krsna, reawakening their love for Him, is such a precious gift to witness and share and learn from. May Prabhupada draw every soul to his mission for huma…

Hobart yatra reflections

Hobart yatra is excited about the visit of HH Janananda Gosvami on February 10-12. We have decided to have our 1st ever bhakti yoga retreat as a beautiful yoga centre about an hour south of the capital, Hobart at a beautiful place called Ables Bay near Cygnet. The centre is called Niche.

The program will start with the Sunday Feast on the 10th February - Maharaja arrives from Melbourne at 1.45 p.m. It ends after breakfast on the 12th ( Maharaja flies out to Malaysia this day).

Srila Prabhupada's Disappearance 2007 Anniversary

What would Srila Prabhupada make of our world in 2007?
Kali yuga's inexorable advance - more degradation, more wars, more suffering, more passion
Less preaching, less hari nam, depleted ashrams, less men and women ready to renounce material life
Fallen gurus, scandalous behaviour, the legacy of pedophiles and child and women abusers
No hope?

Srila Prabhupada would find men and women, boys and girls still committed deeply to His mission and His ISKCON
Serious sadhana,…

Hello, I am from Brisbane I currently live in Hobart. I have dozens of children mostly daughters and some of them have Goddess names. Lachesis Clotho and Atropo are three of my daughters who live in Melbourne. I went to some devotees and had a good time and good meal there but one of the things ISKCON and everyone else has to look out for is the people who are up to something coming in. I would like to start getting involved with ISKCON where I live. Maybe I will come along to the next feast.

This is a great site, even if you're a devotee who isn't necessarily a member of ISKCON, it's just full of wonderful stuff (pics, info, videos, links) and worth all the questions you have to answer to be allowed to join. They've basically kept the lunatics out (aha, i fooled em ;)
Don't pretend you're not an internet ho already...... ;)

I have a blog on there too so please add me if you join up. http://puresoul.ning.com/profile
